Pastor Joseph T. Ikner II was born to the parents of Joseph & Theresa Ikner Sr. in Cleveland, Ohio. At a very early age, Joseph sensed and accepted his calling to the gospel ministry, preaching his first sermon at the tender age of 13. After finishing high school, He attended Andrews University, where he received his B.A. in Theology, Concentration in Pastoral Ministry in 1997 and his Master's of Divinity Degree in 1999. It was while at Andrews University that Joseph met the love of his life, the former Nordia Graham. They joined their hands and hearts in December 1998 and have been happily married for the past seventeen years. Together they have one son, Joseph T. Ikner III, who is thirteen years old.
Pastor & Sis. Ikner served in pastoral ministry in the Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists for eight years from 1998-2006. While serving in the Michigan Conference Pastor Ikner was ordained into the gospel ministry in 2002.
It was while conducting an evangelistic meeting at the Agape Seventh-day Adventist church in St. Louis, MO in 2006 that Pastor Ikner accepted a call to serve in the Central States Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. For the past nine and half years, Pastor & Sis. Ikner have served as the pastoral team for the Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Company (2006-08), the Lighthouse Seventh-day Adventist Church (Sep 2008-Feb 2012), the Berean Seventh-day Adventist church (July 2011-January 2016) and currently the Linwood Temple Seventh-day Adventist church. Pastor Ikner also is the Prayer Coordinator for the Central States Conference.
Pastor Ikner has dedicated his life to proclaiming the gospel through teaching and preaching God’s word. He is a husband, father, son, a servant, a mentor, and pastor but most importantly a child of the King. He loves the Lord and waits with great anticipation with his family for the soon return of Jesus Christ. His favorite scripture text is 1 John 5:14-15, “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him."
